HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

On May 7, 2010, the Carmelite Community of the Word Sisters, along with many volunteers, brought months of sorting and packing of donations to fruition with the loading of THREE Sea Containers that were then shipped to Haiti!

Some of the Materials sent to Haiti

Construction Materials - 25,893 lbs (Including steel roofing, wood for construction and tools and all supplies needed for roof construction)
Hygiene Products - 2845 lbs (Personal care products, shampoos, hands soap, laundry soap, combs, brushes, tooth paste, tooth brushes, powder)
Clothing - 10,426 lbs. (Clothing for adults and children, underwear, baby clothes)
Misc Items for Distribution by the Sisters - 2298 lbs. (Items such as mattresses, toys, household and kitchen goods, etc.)
Shoes - 2067 lbs. (Shoes for adults and children including 400 pairs of new shoes for children)
Canned Food - 2233 lbs.
Linens & Bedding - 4238 lbs. (Sheets, towels, pillows, blankets, mattresses, camping mats, cots)
Clinic Supplies - 850 lbs. (First Aid items, Mid-wife kits, non-prescription creams, ointments, bandaids.

And Many More Items!
A total load of 47,040 lbs!
