Lenten Sunday Series

Ronald Rohlheiser, OMI is a Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate, a specialist in the fields of spirituality and systematic theology. He has written extensively in matters of spirituality. Using his DVD presentations on spirituality, we will spend a Sunday Sabbath afternoon in reflection, prayer and spiritual enrichment. This series will be facilitated by Sr. Marilyn Welch

Suggested Offering per session: $15

March 1
The Passion of Christ

Through Scripture and examples from life, Fr. Rohlheiser gives new understanding and encouragement in our understanding of Jesus the lover, who undergoes moral and emotional sufferings without resentment or bitterness.

March 15
The Cross of Christ

Like all deep things in life, the Cross is largely a mystery. The Cross reveals God’s unconditional love and vulnerability: as a teaching and an invitation to discipleship; God suffers with us.

March 29
Generative Discipleship

When we think we’ve reached the deepest level of discipleship, Jesus invites us to more. What are these invitations from Jesus to live our lives more deeply; and how can we recognize them?

Saturday, February 28, 2009 9:30—2:30 PM
Day of Reflection: Reconciliation: I will arise and go to my father...

Lent is the time for Reconciliation. Spend this day with the Prodigal Son, as this parable helps us to understand the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Sr. Cindy Burns will discuss the human need for reconciliation as well as ways to celebrate the forgiveness that our loving God extends to us.

Suggested offering: $35.

The Spirituality of Imperfection: Overnight Retreat

Using the book, "The Spirituality of Imperfection" by Ernest Kurtz and Katherine Ketcham, this retreat will explore how to face up to ordinary tasks and to ease the sense of helplessness we all experience from time to time. When we accept our limitations, it is then that we can truly depend on God. Through simple stories filled with ancient wisdom, we discover a spirituality that truly works today. Sr. Cindy Burns will provide the input for this retreat. Opportunity for Spiritual Direction will be available.

Suggested Offering: $55

Saturday, March 14 9:30-2:30 PM
Make Holy the Day

Join us for this day of reflection and prayer around the Church’s Liturgy of the Hours, and learn how to live out Christ’s teaching to “pray always” (Lk. 18:1), thus making each day holy by “offering to God an unceasing sacrifice of praise “(Heb. 15: 15). (Bring your Office Book if you have one.)
