Current 2007 Schedule Group Spiritual Direction Sessions for Winter-Spring to be determined. Group spiritual direction is a process in which individuals gather together on a regular basis to assist one another in an ongoing awareness of God’s action in their lives. They seek and offer support to each other in their search for God. Individuals who choose to participate in Group Spiritual Direction commit themselves to an ongoing life of payer, participation in the group on a regular basis, prayerful listening and response to each other, and a willingness to open their own spiritual journey for the consideration of others. Once begun, additional person are not accepted into the group. Facilitator: Sr. Marilyn Welch, CCW
The Man Who Loved Women by Dorothy Valcarcel Stories of 18 New Testament women and the intersection of their lives with Jesus. As the author explores the lives of every woman Jesus met, she discovered that they faced some of the same challenges faced by women today. This series will provide an opportunity to share insights, prayer and conversation related to this book. Facilitator: Sr. Marilyn Welch
Women’s Directed Prayer Spend an overnight in guided prayer and reflection. Each retreatant will have opportunity to meet with a Spiritual Director, to have private and communal prayer opportunities during this time set aside to experience the wonder of God’s loving presence. Retreat begins with arrival at 7 PM Friday and ends at 3 PM Saturday. Private room and meals are included. Retreat Directors: Sr. Marilyn & Cindy
Would You Like to Meet Abraham and Moses? An opportunity to learn more about these men whom God chose to be models for our spiritual journey. They are perfect examples of God’s action in imperfect humanity. Spend time with input, prayer and conversation during this afternoon program. Facilitator: Sr. Jane Miller
A Day with the Saints How much do we know about the people whom the Catholic Church has given the special designation of “saint?” How do they have an effect on our lives? This day will explore the lives of men and women who have had great influence on the Church and society, saints from long ago as well as those more contemporary examples of Christian living. Caregivers Day of Reflection A day for input, prayer and conversation for anyone who is involved in some form of care-giving. An opportunity for persons who are expending themselves in ministry to others to experience God’s special love and care for them. Facilitator: Sr. Marilyn Welch
Finding the Real Meaning of Christmas For Your Life and Your Family’s Already frantic about Christmas preparations? Want to make Christmas a spiritual celebration once again? Spend this day of study, prayer and reflection preparing for a simpler, more meaningful celebration of Christ’s Birth. Facilitator: Sr. Marilyn Welch
Mary: Model of Advent Preparation A time for prayer, input, reflection and conversation during the early days of Advent. Mary, as our mother, extends the perfect example of preparing for the celebration of the coming of Jesus, Emmanuaelle. It is her life which models for us a true appreciation of God-with-Us. The Gifts of Advent As we prepare to celebrate Christmas once again, this day will focus on the gifts of light, silence and peace that accompanies the coming of Christ. Time for input, reflection, prayer and hands-on creation will help to open your heart to the meaning of Christ’s coming for each of us.
